About us My name is Vernon Miller and my wife's name is Peggy. We live on a 1 acre property on the very edge of New Boston IL. We have been around dogs our entire lives and have come to love the Schnauzer breed. Our desire is to share what we know and offer fellow Schnauzer lovers some of the finest examples of the breed available. Our dogs are raised in our home, and treated as family.
From time to time I am asked why our puppies are priced so high... even though they are priced in line or lower than comparable puppies I will try to explain why our high quality miniature or toy schnauzer puppies are priced where they are. We are not a puppy mill !!! We raise only miniature and toy schnauzer puppies. We do not line breed or cross breed. We are very selective about the breeding stock therefore we have to pay top dollar when we replace one of them. We only have two or three producing bitches and after they have whelped 4 to 6 litters they are spayed and retired. We either keep them or find them a good home. They are all trained as house dogs, not kennel dogs. All vaccinations, tail docking and dew claw removal is done by a veterinarian. The value of a puppy is determined by the size it will attain as an adult. The smaller the dog the higher the price. This is determined by supply and demand. Smaller dogs whelp smaller litters and small dogs are very popular. We feed only the dog food that has the top quality ingredients that meet my standards. The food we purchase for our dogs is chosen by the ingredient list Not by what it costs. This gets expensive but it also produces top quality puppies and TOP QUALITY PUPPIES demand a top quality price. Effective internal and external parasite control products get more expensive every year. We also maintain a climate controlled kennel building with outside runs for housing the two male dogs and also the puppies at night after they are 7 weeks old. The heating or cooling of this building is another necessary over head cost. At the end of the year when every thing is totaled up there is not nearly enough profit to cover the cost of the labor it took but we get paid for that with the joy and satisfaction we get when customers send pictures and letters telling how much they are enjoying their beautiful little dog. We care for our dogs with love and affection and we consider each one of them a family member. It is a sad time around here each time a litter of puppies get old enough to go to their forever homes.
